At the LONDON Associations Committee meeting in April 2005 it was agreed that we would hold our 2009 Reunion near to the National Memorial Arboretum to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Yangtze Incident. Our intention was to visit the Arboretum on the Sunday afternoon and hopefully meet with Shipmates from the other Yangtze Incident Associations.

Our then Chairman and now President John Parker, advised the other Yangtze Ships Associations of our intentions for April 2009. The response from AMETHYST and BLACK SWAN was positive and it was decided to go ahead with a joint Service of Thanksgiving in the Millennium Chapel at the Arboretum, with an Act of Remembrance immediately afterwards in the Yangtze Grove. The CONSORT Association chose not to be involved but to hold their own events to mark the 60th Anniversary.
